Polytron Corporation’s retro-tastic, pixel-tastic, platform-tastic game Fez has finally been slotted for launch the Xbox Live Arcade on Friday, 13 April. That’s just fourteen more sleeps!
Fez features Gomez, a 2D character who suddenly finds himself in a 3D world, and the inevitably zany adventures that ensue. The gameplay swaps perspective between 2D and 3D as Gomez makes his way from one place to the next, a bit like Super Paper Mario.
The launch comes almost five years after it was first announced in July 2007. Since then, the game has won a bunch of awards at the Independent Game Festival, Fantastic Arcade, Penny Arcade Expo, and Indicade, and was featured in the film, Indie Game: The Movie.
It’s also been tagged at just 800 MSP, so there’s no excuse not to get it and love it forever. The game’s an XBLA exclusive for the moment, although other platforms are apparently under consideration.
