If you weren’t planning to play Mass Effect 3 multiplayer this weekend, now you have a reason to do it – because if you don’t, the entire universe could end. That probably goes without saying, of course, but there are also some goodies up for grabs if you can max out a couple of characters and deploy them.
Anybody who promotes two level 20 characters during Operation Raptor will get a special Commendation Pack, and if the community manages to get a total of 150,000 characters into the war, everybody who took part will get a Victory Pack. I got a Victory Pack once – it had medi-gels in it, and I think I used all of them during a single banshee wave, and we lost anyway.
Due to time zone differences, Operation Raptor gets going only at midnight local time on Friday (that’s just before Saturday starts), and keeps going for another 60 hours after that.
The event is open only to PC and Xbox players, while BioWare is “continuing to work with Sony” about doing these things on PS3.

Got 1 class sitting at level 20 at the moment. A pretty fun to play meleeing Krogan. Fun to watch the bodies fly. But as soon as I pull off like 3 heavy melee attacks I start to lag back and forth for like 10-15 seconds. Then it’s gone. Doesn’t happen anywhere else.
Hope having leveled that soldier now and promoting it during the event still works ;p
