THQ going ahead with Left 4 Dead co-developer’s new FPS

1 April 2012

Way back in May last year THQ announced that it would be publishing the next game to come out of Turtle Rock Studios, co-developer of Left 4 Dead. Now THQ’s Jeremy Grenier has confirmed that development on the campaign of the new FPS is underway.

Grenier said, “Starting work on the campaign for my next FPS, which is being made by the creators of Left 4 Dead. This one is gonna be amazing.”

We still have a while to wait though, with THQ saying we should only be expecting the game around 2014. Grenier himself says we won’t be hearing much about it for quite a while, but the former community manager for Homefront developer KAOS is visiting Turtle Rock next week.

Studios have been seeing massive cuts and/or closures all over the Western market in recent months, and THQ has been no different, canning hundreds of employees and multiple products. In light of this, it’s a relief to see the Turtle Rock game is still going ahead as planned.

Especially since it’s “gonna be amazing”. Although Grenier probably said the same thing about Homefront. Oops.
