PS4’s specs similar to that of Xbox 720: reports

PlayStation 4

As expected, with the rumour of the PS4 being codenamed ‘Orbis’, a bunch of other speculated details are inevitably going to reach the internet masses.

The latest is what lies within Sony’s expected Playstation 4, although speculating about console specs prior to it even being announced is not really an exact science.

Despite the uncertainty, Sony’s next generation offering is said to pack a 2.9Ghz quad core AMD A8-3850 APU with a discrete graphics chip, while a Radeon HD7670 GPU provides the actual muscle. The PS4’s GPU is the same DirectX 11 AMD 6670 which reportedly is very similar to that of the Xbox 720’s inner workings.

Although the consoles are looking similar (according to the loose rumors) the PS4’s advantage will supposedly “come from the secondary GPU provided by the APU”.
