News you may have missed this week (9-13 April)

The long weekend put everyone in an overwhelmed state this week as the slew of information hit harder than the reality that Monday was actually Tuesday, so to speak. The news was filled with a mixture of positive and negative updates regarding the industry itself; thankfully we were dealt some new game details to balance the mood.

Under pressure

The video game industry seemed to come under some pressure and scrutiny throughout the week, with Sony realising that they have to up their game to survive in the tough electronics market.

>> Sony place emphasis on gaming after loss
>> THQ not shipping Darksiders II until it’s “perfect”

Commander, we have a problem

Mass Effect 3 made headlines again, for the right and wrong reasons.

The week was filled with a few stories about things that may not happen, or certainly never will happen.

Developers and creators were flattering of other people’s games, some a little more than others.

Capping it off

Capcom bombarded us with info, videos, details and screenshots on their upcoming games thanks to the Captivate event.

>> DmC not as “dim-witted” as God of War

Maximum leakage

Once again, more leaks and rumors spread across the internet like wildfire.

And publishers obviously want gamers to know something is in the oven…

We were introduced to some concepts that we’re not really sure we actually needed.
