Thief 4 bringing “new stuff to the table”

19 April 2012

Eidos Montreal have revealed that Thief 4, their highly-anticipated and long in development sneak-’em-up, will feature a lot more than gamers expect.

In a recent interview with OXM, the studio’s general manager Stephane D’Astous said that the game will deliver “more than just stealth” by bringing “new stuff to the table”.

D’Astous went on to say: “we have more international staff working on Thief, which brings a great flavour to the game.

“There are a lot of challenges to bringing back a great cult IP, but we consider it like a new IP and we are going to respect the spirit of the franchise” he told the site, in reference to the responsibility in meeting expectation of a high-caliber series.

Eidos Montreal’s most recent work included Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which was widely acclaimed.

“Deus Ex was the kick-start of this new series of great games, and Thief will be part of that. We don’t want to deliver the same each time.”

Thief 4 is also speculated to run on the Unreal Engine.

Currently no release date is set.
