Twisted Metal update breaks game, locks out non-US players

23 April 2012

An update for PS3 exclusive Twisted Metal was released last week, bringing the game up to version 1.05 and adding a bunch of stuff, including a character previously only available as preorder DLC and a new skin for another character.

And it totally broke the game.

According to complaints all over the internet, players outside of America have been unable to log into the game’s multiplayer servers since the update.

Twisted Metal boss David Jaffe has acknowledged the problem, saying on Twitter that “I am hearing this and sorry about it. I will know what is up on Monday. No clue why SCEE territories are locked out :(. I’m sorry.”

The problem has not yet been resolved, and there has been no official word from Sony on the matter either.

“I will contact with sony eu tomorrow, I will ask for refund, based on the fact that the game doesn’t have multiplayer,” threatened PlayStation forum member, jorymiler, who probably won’t.
