PS Vita getting Skype integration

24 April 2012

You’ll never have to be lonely the next time you’re playing on your PS Vita, as full-fledged Skype integration will allow you to call friends while you play.

The Skype app will be available for download from the Playstation Store from tomorrow  (April 25).

The app will work on both the 3G and Wi-Fi models, allowing any PS Vita owner to get on the video-calling action.

The app includes the normal Skype-to-Skype video calling feature of the service, as well as offering additional functions for the Vita, such as utilising the front and back cameras and a ‘background mode’, which lets gamers take calls while staying in their gaming experience.

Vita users will also be able to make calls to landlines at a low-cost expense.

Check out the tutorial demonstration video, brought to you by none-other than most loved/hated professional gamer, Fatal1ty.
