I’m on the way down to the coast this weekend for some R&R, so the closest I’ll be getting to gaming is playing “I spy” in the car or “boat races” in the small town pubs I’m not ashamed of being kicked out of.

I’m going old skool this weekend, and hosting a LAN. Well, an Xbox LAN, so it’s more like old skool with a new skool twist. The plan is to play the Gears of War 3 campaign through and farm achievements, but we’ll probably all end up watching YouTube videos of cats instead.

Another long weekend already? Oh South Africa, you spoil me with your aversion to work. Since the last time around I was threatening to finish Mass Effect 3 (I didn’t), this weekend I better try and make it all the way to that anti-climactic ending. As it turns out the game is pretty long, and my attention span isn’t. When I’m not steadily working my way to disappointment I’ll follow in James’ footsteps by force-feeding myself DOTA 2, trying to pretend that I don’t like HoN more. Seriously though Gabe, where are my mana bars? (and my Episode 3).

This long weekend will be filled with catching up with my list of shame. I will probably be blinded by Syndicate’s bloom lighting on Friday, try impregnate some aliens with Mass Effect 3 on Saturday (won’t need my eyes), and to top it all off, do some concrete-cracking belly-flops in Prototype 2 on Sunday.

Awesome McAwesome, hipster extraordinare, was on tour as a rock superstar after selling out to mass media where he fell for one of his bandmates. Problem is, said band mate had a girlfriend, and this made things difficult for their illicit same-sex love affair. Awesome decided he’d had enough of the lies and invited the girl over – so there is SO much drama happening this weekend. In the Sims 3.

That night, when Monica came over, McAwesome serenaded her with a bit of nude guitaring - surrounded by the ambiance of the Master Suite candles.
