It’s finally here! No, not Episode 3 (man, how many times can I use that joke? I don’t know Gabe, how many years can it take to make an expansion? Zing!), that other thing Valve promised.
I’m talking obviously about Portal 2’s map editor. Quite some time ago we heard this was in the pipeline, and would allow us to create wickedly treacherous environments to make our friends navigate like some kind of nerdy Jigsaw. Well, Valve has finally announced that we’ll be getting said map editor for Mac and real computers on the 8th of May.
The DLC is titled “Perpetual Testing Initiative”, and as promised will allow players to create their own puzzles and then share them online.
“The Initiative comes with a simplified puzzle maker that allows that creation of mind-bending puzzles without ever leaving the game,” said Valve.
“The puzzle maker can directly publish maps to the Steam Workshop where users can browse, vote on, and select to play them. Selected puzzles will automatically be downloaded and installed inside Portal 2.”
Oh man I can’t wait, I know just what I’m going to make first. “HELLO GABE. I WANT TO PLAY A GAME. IT’S BEEN FOUR YEARS SINCE EPISODE 2…”
