An animated reincarnation of Portal, named ‘Companionship’, is currently being developed.
‘Companionship’ is a passion project from Alex Zemke, and will take the form of a short movie.
Zemke describes the project as a “tale of love, loss and cubes”.
Zemka has previously worked as an animator on Uncharted 2 and 3, as well as The Smurfs movie, putting some high-caliber animation pedigree behind his name.
A few live-action Portal iterations have made their way onto the internet, although an animated approach might be the best format to capture the off-beat and quirky action of the game series.
