Kickstarter is becoming increasingly popular as each week goes by and has become a significant platform for game developers to launch aspiring projects.
The latest pie-in-the-sky is Ravaged, a post-apocalyptic FPS/vehicular combat game from New York based developer 2 Dawn Games.
So what is Ravaged?
Strip away all of the bad parts of Rage, throw in a little Battlefield 3, mix in some vehicular destruction, add some capture-the-flag type game modes, and you’ve got something immediately familiar yet characteristically different.
2 Dawn Games have released a gameplay trailer showing that the game is working and already looking pretty impressive. The Kickstarter is to help with the beta testing, marketing, and producing more vehicles for the final game.
The fact that the game is already running makes the prospect of playing it incredibly likely. It still has over 20 days to go and has already beat the goal by $10K, so it’s just a matter of seeing how the project evolves, because its launch looks inevitable.
