Angry Birds Space catapults its way to fastest growing mobile game ever

1 May 2012

It would appear the hunger of the masses to fling birds at various farm animals cannot be sated, as Angry Birds Space has launched itself to the fastest growing mobile game ever, racking an insane 50 million downloads in only 35 days.

This info comes via developer Rovio, who can probably scarcely believe themselves that this golden goose is still laying. The game is now available on iOS, Android, PC and Mac.

“We extend our deepest gratitude to all fans of Angry Birds everywhere,” Rovio said on its blog.

“While numbers like this certainly say something about the popularity of Angry Birds, for us the main goal is to keep creating fun new experiences that everybody can enjoy.”

Rovio also said there are going to be “plenty more surprises”, although no one is exactly sure what the earlier surprises were. They also added, “There’s only one conclusion to draw: something even bigger is on its way.” Like an ostrich?
