Call of Duty Elite has over 10 million users

10 May 2012

In addition to announcing Black Ops II, Activision have also revealed that their Elite service for the Call of Duty series has reached a user base of over 10 million.

The service initially had somewhat of a rocky start, although Elite seems to be going strong given the impressive subscription numbers.

The figure is a drastic increase from the 7 million users that were recorded in February.

Premium users who pay the annual $49.99 (±R400*), are said to have grown to 2 million.

Activision have also confirmed that to tie-in with the launch of their upcoming Black Ops sequel, the publisher will launch Call of Duty Elite 2.0.

No details have been given for the upcoming version of the Elite service, although it is expected to feature a number of overhauls and add-ons.

Maybe Elite 2.0 will even make its way on PC? Do any PC gamers out there even care at this stage? Let us know what you think in the comments below and on the MyGaming forum.
