Sleeping Dogs is looking more and more promising with every piece of information and snippet of gameplay we get, and Square-Enix’s open-world action game is ready to take to the Streets of Hong Kong in mid-August.
The latest trailer shows off the combat mechanics within the game, which is heavily influenced by Arkham City’s fighting system, as Rocksteady even overlooked the development of the hand-to-hand action in the game.
MyGaming’s evil slave-driver benevolent overlord, James, got his hands on Sleeping Dogs, and this is what he had to say about the combat system in his preview:
“United Front seems to have learnt well from Rocksteady, with smooth and intuitive group combat mechanics that will give the player a challenge, but won’t frustrate with unnecessary complexity. The camera pans around smoothly to give a good angle on the action, and the in-game director will throw in a touch of slow-mo at key moments to add cinematic flair to the battle. It was great fun exploring this component of the gameplay, and the all too short alpha-preview left me hungry for more.”
