Uncapped ADSL 10Mbps price comparison

16 May 2012

Afrihost has launched their new 10Mbps uncapped ADSL service at a price of R997 per month – the first Internet Service Provider (ISP) in South Africa to dip below R1,000 for a 10Mbps uncapped data-only account.

This pricing from Afrihost undercuts its main competitors, including MWEB, Web Africa, Openweb and Axxess (which is a subsidiary of Afrihost).

The launch of the more affordable 10Mbps uncapped ADSL offerings followed Telkom’s wholesale ADSL (IPConnect) price cut of 30% in April 2012.

The following table provides an overview of some of the prominent 10Mbps uncapped ADSL offerings in the market.

It should be noted that the prices quoted below do not include Telkom’s analogue line rental (R139.97 per month) and ADSL access fees (R413 per month).
