Minecraft’s phenomenal global popularity has made the smooth transition into Xbox popularity, beating out Call of Duty Black Ops for the number 2 spot on Xbox Live’s most played list this week; the list’s top two slots are usually static with Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops as regular fixtures. Modern Warfare 3 may still be king, but this week finds Black Ops sulking in third place.
This isn’t a total shock considering Minecraft’s Xbox edition broke all kinds of Xbox LIVE Arcade digital sales records with over a million copies sold in the first week.
