After the recent rumours and leaked screenshots, it was pretty much another terribly-kept secret that a new Splinter Cell was set to be announced at Microsoft’s press conference.
Splinter Cell: Black List is indeed the revealed title, and Ubisoft are bringing the goggle-loving Sam Fisher back with a bang.
The gameplay demo shown for the presentation showcased a mission set in the Middle-East, with a lot of stylish executions that followed.
Sam’s ‘mark-and-execute’ moves from Conviction make a return, along with some new tricks up his armour-clad sleeves.
Splinter Cell: Black List is set for release on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.
Keep an eye on MyGaming’s E3 coverage as it unfolds.

Awesome video, and I’m really glad to see this got the announcement we were expecting! The graphics engine looks similar to what we saw in Conviction, and that engine worked fairly well, so I’m ok with that. I also like the fact that this is a completely different environment especially being outdoors, it’s a real nice change of scenery.
One thing I’m not so amped about is the in-your-face gunfighting going on here. I don’t have a problem with it but only as long as I’m not forced to actually progress through any particularly area by shooting everyone in sight. If I’m given the option to stealth my way through, then that’s what I’ll do instead. It’s just the way I prefer to play Splinter Cell. I’m also not sure how I feel about the fact that in this video, a lot of it involves running around in the sunlight. My experience with previous Splinter Cells has made me very nervous of running Sam into any light sources. Being outdoors with very few shadows around is a cool idea but I just hope it doesn’t force Sam into more of a run and gun game style as opposed to the sneak around and stab gameplay of the previous games.
