Lost Planet 2 confirmed for PS3

9 June 2009

In February Capcom announced that Lost Planet 2 is in development.

Capcom revealed that the new game would run on its own propriety engine – MT-Framework 2.0 and that Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi is working on the title.

Unlike the first game which took place on a snow covered planet, the sequel will feature tropical jungles, rivers and lakes. An impressive gameplay trailer shows off Lost Planet 2’s impressive visuals and exotic setting.

The game was originally only announced for the Xbox 360, and Capcom revealed shortly afterwards that a PC version would follow.

A PS3 version was teased but never confirmed, until last week when Sony Computer Entertainment America CEO Jack Tretton revealed that a PS3 version of Lost Planet 2 would be released early in 2010.
