Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut DLC includes save game

26 June 2012

We have a lot of questions about Mass Effect 3’s ending and the Extended Cut DLC promises to answer some of them. One of the most important questions, I’m sure, is “How can I avoid playing the whole game over just so I can see how it’s supposed to end?”

Lucky for you, BioWare has thought ahead of this problem, and included a save game point right at the end of the game, so you can cut straight to the relevant stuff. “Cut”, get it? Because it’s the Extended Cut. I’m here all week, folks.

According to an Extended Cut FAQ:

“After completing Mass Effect 3, a ‘Legend’ save is created prior to assaulting the Cerberus Base. To experience the Extended Cut DLC, load this save game and play through to the end of the game. The Extended Cut endings will differ depending on choices made throughout the Mass Effect series, so multiple playthroughs with a variety of different decisions will be required to experience the variety of possibilities offered by the new content.”

The DLC is out today for Xbox, PC, and for North American PS3 users. European and local PS3 gamers will have to wait until 4 July to see how it all goes down. Or goes wrong. YOU DECIDE.
