Gearbox president would love to see Borderlands 2 on Vita

7 July 2012

Gearbox big cheese Randy Pitchford would love to see a Playstation Vita version of Borderlands 2 – but he won’t be the one to make it.

Pitchford said Gearbox is just too busy to do it, but he’s intrigued by the possibilities of cloud connectivity between the PS3 and Sony’s flagship handheld.

“One of the things I wish Sony would do is get behind Borderlands, because I’d love to see a Vita version of the game,” he said.

“I want to be able to have the character I’m working on with my PS3, and then when I’m on the road with my Vita I can just keep developing that same character because it exists on the cloud somewhere.

“Technologically, that’s possible.”

Pitchford encouraged the crowd to send some encouragement Sony’s way.

“Perhaps some of you folks can convince Sony to start that,” he said. “We’re too busy to develop it ourselves. But I know there are a lot of talented developers who could take our code, our source and our content and perhaps create something like that.

“That would be exciting to me.”

Something smells like internet petition.
