ATi has released the latest Radeon GPU firmware update in the form of Catalyst 9.7.
Catalyst 9.7 is ATi’s first Windows 7 certified driver update, and launches just in time as Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 7 is basically finished and ready with Wn7 RTM being sent to manufacturers.
Apparently the update offers “ehnahced usability and end user efficiency.”
ATi claims that users can expect 4800 series cards to perform around 8 percent better in Crysis with the new driver, and between 8 and 11 percent better in Lost Planet Colonies.
