The optional pre-paid DLC bundle for Battlefield 3 has turned out to be a hit for EA, as Battlefield Premium has built a solid user-base since it launched in June 2012.
BF3 Premium players now number 1.3 million, with 800,000 gamers signing up in the first two weeks.
If maths is to be believed (we’re still skeptical), 1.3 million x $50 = nearly $65 million. That’s not including gamers who may have purchased the currently available DLCs separately.
BF3 Premium’s one-time fee of $49.99 entitles the buyer to all five of the game’s expansion packs. Each DLC pack would ordinarily cost $15 so it’s a pretty good deal if you’re a serious BF3 player.
