Telkom will upgrade its 1Mbps ADSL users to 2Mbps from the 24th of August 2012, and will increase the speed of 384kbps ADSL subscribers to 1Mbps from 1 October 2012.
Current uncapped ADSL subscribers will have to upgrade their uncapped accounts if they want to experience the higher speeds, and these upgrades come at a cost.
Many Internet service providers (ISPs) have already unveiled their new 1Mbps and 2Mbps uncapped ADSL pricing, which means that users can tell what they will pay after the upgrades.
Telkom’s new prices also kicked in on 1 August 2012, which means that consumers now have to pay a bit more for their ADSL access and analogue line rental.
