What’s better than a regular console? A modded console, of course. I’ve finished the internet twice to bring you this list of the best console mods ever made. I was going to include that totally awesome Xbox mod that’s also a fully operational spaceship and looks like a T-rex with a jetpack and a rocket launcher, but I discovered it hasn’t actually been made yet. So that’s what I’ll be doing this weekend. In the meantime, though…
PS3 meat griller
Okay, so it doesn’t play games, but it does steaks and that’s basically the next best thing. If it’s not hot enough for you, try putting a first generation Xbox 360 next to it to add some char-grilled zing.
SNES PC
It looks like a SNES, but it’s actually an Acer Aspire One A150 netbook. Directed by M. Night Shyamalan.
NES coffee table
Combining functional and practical in one attractive package, the NES coffee table is both a working controller and a convenient place to put your double espresso. But wait, there’s more – the whole thing flips open to reveal a storage space. The logical next step is converting that into a toilet, obviously.
R2-D2 multi-console
This R2 unit is in prime condition, a real bargain. It also features an Atari 7800, NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, PSP, Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, Xbox, and Sega MegaDrive built in, with a projector for retro gaming on the go, wherever you are in the galaxy.
Xbox 360 Elite laptop
If your R2 unit shorts out or decides to go on some interstellar mission without you, there’s still the Xbox 360 Elite laptop to keep your operations running. It’s even got an Xbox LIVE Vision webcam built in so you can play naked Uno with Guilty Spark.
Zombie SNES
If you’ve ever wondered what a post-zombie holocaust SNES might look like, here it is. Everything on the console apparently works except for the reset button. That’s the thing about a zombie holocaust, though – there’s no going back now. Especially once you’ve had your first taste of human flesh.
Super Nintoaster
Is it a console, is it a toaster? No, it’s just a console but if the fans break, I’m sure it’ll do a good job toasting your cartridges.
Suzuki SXbox concept car
I assume the windscreen replaces a regular TV, which makes reality into a whole new game. The graphics are amazing, especially those chunks of gore and blood splatter all over the front bumper.

There’s also some serious rumble in that controller. It feels exactly like driving over a small child.
Alien PS3
The thing about Xenomorphs is that they can get nested in pretty much anywhere, and then you’ll have to find some way to get rid of them or there’s going to be trouble.
PS3 / Xbox in a PC
Which is better, the PS3 or the Xbox 360? It doesn’t matter if you have both.
