Black Ops 2 developer build leaks

10 September 2012

It appears as if a development build for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has slipped into the wrong hands, and a bunch of videos have begun to hit the internet.

The videos have been distributed across a number of YouTube channels, with some being pulled-down and some surviving the YouTube banhammer.

A mod by iHcJames has already been installed to the unreleased game. iHcJames is the same modder who leaked terminal gameplay of Modern Warfare 3 before it was officially announced by Infinity Ward.

Activision promptly issued a statement on the gameplay video, claiming that the footage has been taken from an unfinished development build.

“The video posted is from a development demo build, using developer tools meant for testing. The retail build was never accessed or compromised.”

How or where the build was accessed is unclear, although it’s suggested that it was filmed at a closed internal beta session.

Black Ops II is set to launch worldwide on 13 November 2012.
