Uncharted 2 Demo available tomorrow

29 September 2009

Tomorrow the first Uncharted 2: Among Thieves demo, which will give PS3 owners a chance to try their hand at the multiplayer aspect of the game, will become available to all users on the PSN network.

The demo will feature four maps, two new co-operative maps, and a number of multiplayer modes. The download, which has been open to fans who pre ordered the game at GameStop for the past two weeks, will only be made available to general users until the game’s release on October 13th.

Uncharted: Drakes Fortune is widely regarded as one of the best PS3 exclusive titles in the console’s lifetime and has sold over 2.6 million copies globally to date.

The sequel, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is set to take place several years after the story in Drake’s Fortune and will reportedly have a darker feel. The game will also introduce several new features such as stealth mode.

The file size will weigh in at 1.5GB. Luckily, the South African PSN network operates on a local mirror which will allow PS3 owners to download the content using local bandwidth.

In order to download from PSN using local bandwidth, users must begin the download using regular international bandwidth. Once the transfer has begun, users need to enter local bandwidth account details into their router. Once this is done, the download will continue using local bandwidth which can be bought from most ISPs for around R10 per GB.
