GTA V release window officially announced

31 October 2012

Rockstar Games, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, has announced that Grand Theft Auto V is expected to launch worldwide during spring 2013 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

In southern-hemisphere language, that means around Q2/Q3 2013. No mention was made of a PC release date.

The announce follows news of “leaked” pre-order promotional images.

Developed by series creator Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto V seeks to once again raise the bar for the sandbox/vehicular mayhem/crime training sim/Fox News goldmine genre.

The game is set in the sprawling city of Los Santos and its surrounding areas. Rockstar claims “unprecedented scale and detail bursting with life, from mountaintops to the depths of the ocean.”

“Grand Theft Auto V builds on everything we’ve learned about open world game design,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “We can’t wait to share it with fans.”

From 5 November 2012, Grand Theft Auto V will be available for pre-order.
