Fans of Star Wars and obsessive-compulsive paper folding now have an opportunity to use their powers and learn the ways of the Origami Force with these Rebel Alliance-approved blueprints by Martin Hunt.
According to the blurb on his website, Hunt started folding origami models while he was studying maths at Southhampton University in England, presumably because maths is boring and Star Wars is much more fun. For the moment, he’s got instructional diagrams for seven models up for sharesies, including an X-Wing, AT-AT, and a TIE Fighter, but promises more to come both on the website as well as his upcoming book.
If it all looks a bit intimidating to you, remember the wise words of Jedi Master Yoda – “Do, or do not. There is no try.” He’d probably never heard of origami, though. This one time, I tried making an origami frog, and ended up with this massive ball that was stolen by the Empire and used as a megaweapon against the planet of Alderaan. Okay, that didn’t really happen, but it could have.
