SA teams compete in DotA 2 International qualifiers

South African gamers are getting ready for The International, a Dota 2 tournament that puts the best of the best players from around the planet head-to-head for an all-out battle for supremacy.

Three South African teams are set to participate in the event – namely Bravado Gaming, X51 and Icon Gaming.

The three teams have entered the qualifier, which kicks off on 26 November 2012.

Qualifier teams are all playing for a place to play against the big guns of the DotA 2 scene, who are on the International invitational roster.

Andreas Hadjipaschali, the Managing Director of Bravado Gaming, says that his team’s aim is “To make people understand that we’re not just a third world gaming country.”

X51’s captain Ryan Bright also emphasised the element of preparation for competing in the International. “As of late we been playing 4PL and StarLadder, so we have an idea of what to expect from the internationals teams,” said Bright.

The Dota 2 International is sponsored by Roccat and own3Dtv, and MyGaming wishes the local teams the best in the qualifiers.
