A student has managed to land his dream job of managing a professional football club, due to his experience with the Football Manager game series. And mom told you playing games wouldn’t get you anywhere!

Vugar Huseynzade, 21, is now the manager of Azerbaijani Premier League club FK Baku’s A side, after the club was impressed with his knowledge and management skills shown in the video game.

“I’ve always wanted to work in football and have played Football Manager since 2002,” Huseynzade told Scandinavian newspaper Aftonbladet.

Huseynzade isn’t completely inexperienced in the real-world though, as he has a Business Management degree from Boston University, and has done some work in a US-based sports agency.

The 21-year old was said to have even been preferred to former Marseille and France legend Jean-Pierre Papin.
