Mark of the Ninja now available on Steam in SA

Mark of the Ninja

Just like that, Mark of the Ninja is now available to purchase on Steam for SA gamers. According to developer Klei Entertainment, the game was absent due to a hold-up at South Africa’s Film and Publications Board (FPB), the regulatory body that must approve all games for sale in South Africa, digital or physical.

We are still waiting for feedback from the FPB as to why Mark of the Ninja PC took so long to rate, as the game was initially launched for Windows PC in other parts of the world on 16 October 2012.

Adding to the mystery is the fact that the game was already approved for sale on the South African Xbox LIVE digital distribution service. Mark of the Ninja launched on Xbox 360 on 7 September 2012.

Mark of the Ninja is one of the most highly rated PC games of 2012. Now that it is available on Steam, all those frustrated gamers who swore they would buy the game if it were available (and may have resorted to nefarious means to obtain it in the meantime) can now make good on their word.

Mark of the Ninja on Steam

Mark of the Ninja for PC has been rated at 91 and 93.33 on Metacritic and Gamerankings respectively.

Besides looking gorgeous with its hand-drawn visuals, the 2D platformer also features awesome gameplay, requiring players to sneak and slash their way through environments, taking out guards and solving puzzles along the way.

Players also have to be extra careful as the game features a line-of-sight mechanic where, if enemies can’t see you, you can’t see them.

Critics praised the game extensively, winning many editor’s choice awards across the gaming media.
