Cyberpunk 2077 gets a sexy trailer

11 January 2013

Developer CD Projekt RED (The Witcher series) has released a new trailer for its upcoming sci-fi game CyberPunk 2077.

The game – described as a “multi-thread, non-linear story designed for mature players” – is in development for PC (and possibly also next-gen consoles), with original Cyberpunk 2020 creator Mike Pondsmith on the team.

The released video is a full CG trailer, and although it doesn’t show any gameplay, gives an idea of the look and feel of the world that will encompass the story of the game.

We also see a female character being shot at by a group of soldiers (in glorious uber-slow motion). Whether she will be a primary character or not is unknown.

On a side note, some journalists have found the trailer to be a symptom of “sexploitation”, which is fetishising violence and women. Do you agree, or are these opinions making something out of nothing?
