Blizzard has managed to pull together $2.3 million in aid for those affected by Hurricane Sandy, which hit the Northeastern United States in October 2012.
The funds have been generated through the sales of virtual pets on Blizzard’s colossal MMO World of Warcraft.
One hundred percent of the profits from the $10 Cinder Kitten went to the American Red Cross’ Superstorm Sandy relief efforts. The money went towards food, shelter and support.
“The community embraced this fiery feline in droves, helping out a great cause in the process. Thanks again to everyone who helped make a difference,” said Blizzard.
