PS4 and Xbox 720 performance rumours

18 January 2013

The Playstation 4 and Xbox 720 are said to have run-capability of 1.84 teraflops and 1.23 teraflops respectively.

These numbers come from “developer sources” at CES 2013, which, if true, mean that that the PS4 will have 50% more raw computational power than the Xbox 720.

The Xbox 720 wasn’t described as the undercard though, as Microsoft’s next console is said to have 8Gb of RAM, while Sony’s next machine is said to sit at 4Gb of RAM.

It is also claimed that the next-gen Xbox will sport an AMD 8-core processor, an AMD Radeon HD 8000 Series GPU, a 640GB HDD, and run the Windows 8 kernel.

PlayStation 4 has been rumoured to be built on AMD’s A10 APU.
