The inaugural MyGaming Dota 2 competitive cup tournament – the MyGaming Dota 2 Sunday Evening Cup Series (SECS) – is set to kick off this Sunday evening (1- February 2013) from 4PM.

There is still time to enter the tournament, and even if you don’t make it this weekend, you can join in subsequent weekends to stand a chance of battling for the prize pot of R2,000.

Of course, participating from the first weekend of the competition will give your Dota 2 team the best chance of securing a place in the final battle among the top teams.

Details on the tournament can be found in the forum: Dota 2 MyGaming Sunday Evening Cup Series hosted by PolarfluKe

You can also find helpful members handing out spare Dota 2 keys if you need one.

Whether you are a team of professional Dota 2 players looking for a competitive structure in which to hone your skills, or a group of casual friends who reckon you have what it takes to put the so-called “pros” to shame, all are welcome to participate.

To ensure there is something to play for, the winning team will receive a R1,500 cash prize from MyGaming, with the runner-up team receiving R500.

Please post comments, suggestions, observations, criticism, discussions and any other thoughts you have in the MyGaming Dota 2 SECS forum.

It’s up to the community to show us that there is room for such independent gaming cup tournaments, so get those forum posts coming and hone your Dota 2 skills.

See you on the war fields.
