While the PC version of Diablo 3 requires an internet connection to play, the incoming PS3 and PS4 versions are expected to work without an online connection.
The news comes from Sony’s John Hight, who discussed the local multiplayer in an interview.
“You can have four people on the same screen – no split-screen, we just zoom the camera out,” Hight said.
Hight also discussed the changes to the console version, such as the reworked control scheme which allows the dual-analogues to control your character, as opposed to clicking or selecting a spot.
There is currently no release date for the PS3 and PS4 versions of Diablo 3.

Im part of the hybrid pirates. I buy a boxed version of the game … it doesn’t work … i download a working pirate version. So in essence I own the game so screw them. I have a CE of SC2 ..,. only opened once for initial install and even then I only used it for single player. The pirated version is way better cause it has offline multiplayer.
