The reveal of the PS4 specs has resulted in a lot of developers commenting on the forthcoming console, and a Just Cause dev believes it’ll stand taller than PCs for a good while.
Speaking with Gaming Bolt, Avalanche’s CTO Linus Blomberg said that the PS4’s power will be ideal for the large environments that the studio loves.
“We are confident that we’ll bring open-world gaming to a whole new level because of it,” said Blomberg.
“I’m glad Sony decided to go with 8GB RAM because it means that the PS4 will out-power most PCs for years to come.”
While Blomberg gushed over the PS4’s technical specs, he also praised its connectivity to the realm of social gaming.
“The PS4 will not only be a very powerful gaming machine from a hardware perspective, but it will also be a social tool and integrated marketplace more akin to successful mobile devices.”
In February, Avalance’s CEO Christofer Sundberg also tweeted a mysterious picture which appears to be series’ protagonist Rico Rodriguez jumping to or from an air ship of some sorts; igniting rumours that a Just Cause 3 announcement is on its way.

Knack, new character-driven physics action-platformer for PS4
Granted a pc costs if you are upgrading to the newest hardware. And the ps4 overs a nice deal. But no way in hell will it beat a midrange and even less high range gaming pc! The ps4 has a gpu that puts out 1.84tflops a 5850 does over 2tflops and that card is way old!
Don’t come with bs marketing and think that the pc fanboys will keep their traps shut! My previous system I build 2 years ago will trash the new ps4 in every way! And my new rig will kick the ps4 in the nuts and take a dump on its head and won’t even break a sweat!
And yeah it cost me way more than what a ps4 would have cost me(before the console fan boys have a go at me). But the diff is in the visuals console won’t be able to put out the eye candy that a high end pc can. That’s why we spend the money on a pricy pc gaming rig rather than a console.
