Battlefield 4 revealed, gameplay video showcased

EA and DICE have officially revealed Battlefield 4 at massive events held in Stockholm and San Francisco.

DICE showed off a 17-minute live demo and revealed a number of details about the upcoming sequel.

Battlefield 4 will integrate the elements of multiplayer, a highlight of the series, into the single-player experience.

Players will be able to traverse huge environments, access a wealth of vehicles and direct squad mates, all within the single-player campaign, which encompasses land, sea and air combat.

The game will be powered by DICE’s Frostbite 3 engine, so expect some of the shiniest visuals and intense destruction you’ve seen to date.

Battlefield 4’s “Fishing in Baku” single-player demo was presented, showing a protagonist, Recker, stuck in a pretty sketchy situation.

DICE also announced some details regarding to upcoming Battlefield 4 beta. There are a number of ways to get involved in the beta: pre-order the BF4 Digital Deluxe Edition on Origin, by being a Battlfield 3 Premium member, and by being a registered owner of Medal of Honor Warfighter Limited Edition or Digital Deluxe Edition.

The game is set for a “Fall 2013” release, which means that us Southern Hemisphere-dwellers should be expecting Battlefield 4 to arrive within the Q4 period.
