Four members of the LulzSec hacking group have pleaded guilty for charges regarding hacking Sony systems, along with a number of other sites.
Ryan Ackroyd, Jake Davis, Mustafa al-Bassam and Ryan Cleary are the guilty party, and after admitting to their actions in a British court, the four will be sentenced on 14 May, and are expected to face a 2 to 3 year sentencing.
LulzSec performed distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks on a number of video game companies and corporate websites throughout 2011.
Some claims against the group include hacking into Nintendo and Sony’s websites, and then some other less important things, such as the Pentagon, the CIA, and UK’s National Health Service.
In March 2012, LulzSec’s leader, 28-year old Hector “Sabu” Monsegur also ratted out the rest of his cadre to the FBI as part of a plea bargain.
