Notch the world’s second most influential person

15 April 2013

Time Magazine has been running an online poll to determine who is the most influential and popular person in the world, and Minecraft creator and Mojang co-founder Markus “Notch” Persson features incredibly highly on the list.

Second, to be specific, as Notch lies just under Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi, who would be considered a more traditional choice in such a list, so the inclusion of Notch is quite a feat.

At the time of writing, Notch has accumulated 156,694 votes which say he should “absolutely” be featured, while only 18,694 say that he shouldn’t.

The voting has closed, and it’s now up to the Time editors to select their final list, which will be revealed on 18 April 2013.

Check out Time’s list for yourself.
