Bioshock 2 PS3 will require 5GB install space

3 February 2010

While it won’t really matter to most PS3 owners, as most current PS3s have at least 80GB of storage space, those with the 20GB or 40GB launch models may be a bit annoyed to learn that Bioshock 2 will require 5GB of harddrive space in order to perform the mandatory install which is required to play the game.

This is no different to the original game which also required a 5GB install to play. The install is optional for Xbox 360 users, but may improve load times and overall performance. Installing games on the Xbox 360 means the disk does not need to always be spinning in order to play the game, and many gamers have reported a significant drop in console operating noise from doing so.
