Pacific Rim

A rating from the Australia Office of Film and Literature Classification has let slip that a video game to tie into the upcoming Pacific Rim film is on the way.

For those who may not know, Pacific Rim is a forthcoming sci-fi flick from Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth), in which giant creatures have risen from the sea, and its up to humanity to fend them off with gargantuan robots.

Yeah, it sounds as awesome as it looks. Check out the Pacific Rim trailer if you haven’t seen it already.

The listing for the game reveals that Yuke’s (WWE, UFC series) is the developer behind the project, and pedigree of Yuke’s with the fighting genre should come in handy for a Pacific Rim game.

The game is said to be a downloadable title for PSN and Xbox Live Arcade.

A number of screenshots and a pack shot were posted to NeoGAF, giving a glimpse into what the game will actually look like.
