After a listing for Mirror’s Edge 2 appeared on the German arm of Amazon, it was pulled. Mirror’s Edge 2 has now reappeared on Amazon Italy, listed for Xbox One.

The listing is slightly different from the German one, as it now pictures the Mirror’s Edge logo on the official Xbox One game casing, which was revealed by Microsoft.

Microsoft explained at the Xbox One reveal event that they have 15 exclusives lined up for the upcoming console – could Mirror’s Edge 2 be one of them?

EA did respond to the initial German listing, saying that they “appreciate fan enthusiasm for Mirror’s Edge, especially fans throughout the retail channel. This is not official EA material.” EA also said: “We have nothing to announce at this time.”

News and rumours about Mirror’s Edge 2 have been leaping around the industry rooftops for quite some time.

Ngmoco’s Ben Cousins, who formerly worked at Electronic Arts as a general manager of EA Easy, previously tweeted that a sequel to DICE’s 2008 first-person platformer is in fact already in the works.

“It is general knowledge in the Stockholm dev scene that Mirror’s Edge 2 is in production at DICE,” said Cousins in a tweet.

Cousins was responding to an article from OXM, in which EA Games VP Patrick Soderlund said that DICE doesn’t want to become a “Battlefield factory”.

Another hint came from an ex-EA software engineer, who claimed to have worked on “the wandering of crowd system within Unreal3 engine” on Mirror’s Edge 2 in 2009; while another former employee said that he implemented “new gadgets and interactive features”, “leader-boards” and a “mini-game” for the yet-to-be-announced free-running sequel.
