While the PS4 has relatively few restrictions regarding offline play, PS gamers will require Playstation Plus subscription in order to play online multiplayer. This is a change from the system on PS3, where multiplayer was free (online passes notwithstanding). A new video from Playstation Access details some of the features PS Plus will bring to the PS4.

For those who may have missed the initial announcement, features such as existing PS Plus subscriptions will be carried over to PS4, and game demoes, discounts, betas and other extra content will be available to members.

A big feature is the Instant Game Collection, which will give players access to a minimum of 10 extra games to play at no extra cost.

Pricing hasn’t changed, and membership can be purchased through PlayStation Store: one-year membership for $49.99, three-month membership for $17.99, one-month membership option for $9.99.

Sony also recently detailed the perks that will be coming with the July update of Playstation Plus, which includes Battlefield 3 and Payday: The Heist.
