Games you can play this week

24 June 2013

This week, a fast-talking anti-hero finally gets his time in the limelight, while a classic strategic war-monger returns to PCs.

Deadpool

Deadpool finally has his own game, and it’s about damn time. The tongue-in-cheek anti-hero has made a number of cameos in other games, but it’s now his time to show the world that his over-the-top violence and snappy one-liners have been sorely missing in the gaming world.

Developed by Transformers Fall of Cybertron devs, High-Moon Studios, the game is an action-packed hack-‘n-slash shoot-‘em-up mixture of chaos and comedy. High Moon have definitely done the “merc-with-a-mouth” justice.

MyGaming got a chance to check out the new game ahead of its release, and listed 5 awesome things about Deadpool.

Company of Heroes 2

Company of Heroes 2 is dropping this week and follows up from the critically-acclaimed 2006 strategy game, which garnered a huge cult following from its release.

Officially announced back in May 2012, the sequel will feature a new campaign following the battles across the Eastern Front of Europe in World War II, a new Essence 3.0 Engine, and a ‘True Sight’ game mechanic, through which players will only be able to see what their controlled soldiers see, leaving what may be behind the next building or treeline unknown.

Company of Heroes 2 is also in its open-beta now, allowing players to have a chance at the military strategy game ahead of its release.

The game is dropping on 25 June 2013, so if you’re quick about it, you can check out MyGaming’s Company of Heroes 2 pre-order roundup and find the best place to grab your game.

Both Takealot and Kalahari has offered the Limited edition of COH2 at a very good price – I got my preorder yesterday to find it is the standard edition with a Preorder DLC incentive.

Think the marketing departments have messed up – Limited edition for R360.00 is not right and now I am awaiting feedback regarding this – cannot do squat with the SE as yet -_-
