Earthworm Jim sequel in development?

Earthworm Jim

Earthworm Jim is a cult-favourite, and while the unlikely hero hasn’t made an appearance for quite some time, the series’ creator could be hinting at a return.

On the game’s Facebook page, Earthworm Jim creator Doug TenNapel appeared to be handling the account for a quick Q&A session, and asked the following:

“Everyone loves Earthworm Jim 1 and 2, and I don’t generally acknowledge EWJ 3 [Earthworm Jim 3D] as a real part of the Jim universe. So if I was making another Jim game, would it be too confusing to call it Jim 3? Or would it have to be Jim 4? How about ‘Earthworm Jim 4 the Fans’?”

The 2D platforming shooter has a hit when it first released in 1993 and after an HD remake released on XBLA and PSN in 2010, players got a chance to try out the remake’s added multiplayer.
