Wasteland 2 has made a significant impact on Kickstarter, and inXile Entertainment has announced a partnership with Deep Silver to publish the game.
Deep Silver will assist in publishing the physical version of the game as well as the physical goods for campaign backers.
“This is a perfect opportunity for inXile: it allows us to continue to focus all of our energy and money into the creative aspects of the game while letting Deep Silver take our game outside of the pure digital space,” said Brian Fargo, CEO inXile Entertainment in a press release. “This has the added bonus of allowing us to spend more of the Kickstarter funds on development while continue to retain all ownership and control.”
While Deep Silver now has the publishing rights, inXile assures gamers that the developers will retain creative control over the game.
inXile is currently working on Wasteland 2 and Torment: Tides of Numenera, both funded via the crowd-funding platform Kickstarter.
