In an interview with VR-Zone, AMD’s VP of channel sales, Roy Taylor spoke at length about AMD’s competitors, their faults and weaknesses, and the lack of competition that wasn’t hindered by proprietary software.

Taylor took a moment in the interview to focus on two projects AMD was working on – Battlefield 4 and the next Never Settle bundle.

Never Settle is AMD’s campaign to bundle games with their graphics cards in order to not only entice gamers to buy the cards, but also to buy the game’s sequels – its a win-win for both AMD and the game’s publisher.

Nvidia has done something similar in the past and today bundles Metro: Last Light with qualifying Geforce 600 cards and will offer Splinter Cell: Blacklist in future. Both games are part of the company’s The Way Its Meant To Be Played (TWIMTBP) campaign.

Never Settle and Gaming Evolved

Most of the games released on AMD’s Never Settle  bundles have been developed in conjunction with AMD’s engineering and driver teams to offer better performance at launch on AMD hardware. Epics like Far Cry 3 and Bioshock Infinite have helped to make the bundle significantly more attractive, and indeed, many of these titles perform well on AMD rigs.

Taylor confirmed to VR-Zone that Never Settle Forever has an August 2013 release data, but he couldn’t specify which games were in the bundle.

Already on the list are Battlefield 4 and Thief, two upcoming titles that are also going to be featured on next-generation consoles. Thief is part of AMD’s Gaming Evolved program and the development team has had help from AMD to optimise their game properly.

Other titles in AMD’s Gaming Evolved program may also be bundled at some point. These include:

  • Castlevania: Lords of Shadow; published by Konami, developed by MercurySteam
  • Final Fantasy XIV; published by Square Enix, developed by Square Enix
  • Leisure Suit Larry Reloaded; published by Replay Games, developed by N-Fusion Interactive
  • Murdered: Soul Suspect; published by Square Enix, developed by Airtight Games
  • Pirate 101; published and developed by KingsIsle Entertainment
  • Shadow of the Eternals; published and developed by Precursor Games
  • Thief; published by Square Enix, developed by Eidos Montreal
