Activision has filed a number of Call of Duty-related trademarks over the years, and as things move forward, the publisher is abandoning those which seem to be of no more use.
The trademark application of Call of Duty: Space Warfare was originally filed with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) in May 2010, but obviously, no game was ever announced and the trademark has now expired.
Activision currently owns the trademarks to Call of Duty: Future Warfare, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and Call of Duty: Secret Warfare, which was registered in 2011.
Before we head into the future, space or some other secret setting for the unforeseeable future of Call of Duty, you can get your hands on Call of Duty: Ghosts, which launches on 5 November 2013 on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC; with Xbox One and PS4 releases to follow.
